Not only that but it doubles duty as a puncture wound compression pad (or bullet wound), works great for nosebleeds (learned that one in rugby), and probably could work as ear plugs although that's really stretching it. Oh and if your wife is with you, it works for her too! -

Marlin lever gun and Heritage Rough Rider, both in .22 mag. Ammo is easy to find and can carry plenty of it and both guns are fairly simple to work on. I figure if there's a threat farther out that 100 yards or so I can get away, anything closer is dead. Just don't expect me to go lookin' for... -

Personally I'm stocked on ammo as is so I'll go with my two favorites. Swiss K31 (comfortable out to 800m) and my everyday carry gun a PA-63. I'm proficient with both, have quality berdan primed ammo (less likely to fail after being in storage), and ammo isn't unheard of (Wally world no, but...
