  2. Scavenging for ammo in SHTF

the value of the gold and silver comes in the months after we shoot all of the idiots out trying to scavenge homes for ammo and the results of survival of the fittest start to show. after the initial shock and awe, there will be rebuilding with more civil interactions and that's where metals...
  3. Scavenging for ammo in SHTF

    the question is which two?
  4. Scavenging for ammo in SHTF

it really depends on the shtf scenario. the odds of finding common calibers is probably greater because there is so much more supply. the thought that walmarts and gun stores would have odd ball calibers makes no sense to me. if i am looting a store post disaster, i'm taking everything...
  5. should I keep my nickles?

history and precious metals all rolled into one
  6. should I keep my nickles?

also, nickels are only worth about 96% of face right now....have been around 125%, while copper pennies are worth 217% right now and have been higher. a few 5 gallon jugs of pennies are nice to have around. i started keeping current issue nickels but haven't kept on stocking up since they are...

  9. shtf ammo

wish it was still that cheap....up to $20/brick now :(
  10. shtf ammo

i have ample stock of both, but probably have a 5:1 ratio of FMJ. this is mainly for cost reasons. I'd much rather have 5000 rds of fmj than 1000 of jhp and run out. easier to shoot a few more fmj if needed than try to find ammo rifle ammo doesn't matter as much as long as your gun will feed...
  11. good deal on storage water at Sam's

Sam's has 4 gal water cooler style bottles for a little over $4 right now. Dated for 2 year expiration but should last a while in proper storage. At only 32 lbs they are still easily portable and the container is reusable.
  12. bottled water shelf life?

What is the approx shelf life of sealed bottled water that you buy at the grocery store? None of them have an expiraton date that I can find. I know this isn't an ideal situation for water storage, but it's nice to have some around as well for easy portability and distribution
