I got eye surgery this summer so no more glasses except sunglasses. Was a long painful 3 month recovery but well worth it. -

Bama, you aren't crazy. The world is in the worst state it has been since WW2 and maybe before. I have a 401k, a couple of IRA's and pay all of my bills but I also prep. I believe if we prepare for things to be ok why shouldn't we prepare for things to go totally off the rails. Before... -

How do you convince family members to start PREPPING?
I live with just my dog. I don't think I'd be able to live with someone who doesn't believe partially in prepping. When friends who live half way across the country find out and make fun of me I just laugh it off. I'll still be laughing long after they are dead from starvation or murder... -
Have you ever vacuum sealed your food?
I've read that the vacuum on the foodsaver dies rather quickly. I do plan on using oxygen absorbers. -

Next week I am going to experiment with dehydrating and vacuum sealing food. I've dehydrated fruit and meat before but now I will add veggies and vacuum seal it using Mylar bags and an iron? Has anyone done this or something similar? If it works I can keep a lot more food in a smaller space... -

The Mayan's didn't declare the world would end Dec 22, 2012, the calendar they made ends then. They could have been wiped out at that point and not had time to continue it.
