Wasn't trying to say you didn't understand. I was confused because the ratings for all three bags are on the midwayusa site, so when you say there was nothing but the patrol bag it didn't make sense. The sale is for the entire system. So again, just not sure why you're focused on just the patrol...
I'm confused on what point you're trying to make. There's an intermediate bag that's rated 40 to -15, as well as the bivy bag. And when all three are combined its even better. Sure if I bought the patrol bag alone it wouldn't work well. But the entire system is 150 bucks. Unless I'm missing...
With all the talk about sleep systems in here, Midway has this sleep system for sale for 150 dollars. Reviews look good and they say it's exactly like the one I used in the Army. I ordered one so I can give a personal review once it arrives and I use it at next month's field drill.
I store about 30lbs of extra dog food in this. Air tight, good quality. They go up to 80lb containers.

I bought that same bag last weekend. it filled about eight 1 gallon mylar bags. That I then put in a rubbermaid bin for storage in the garage. One 1 gallon bag will last me a little over a week, with just me eating. That's eating just rice for the majority of my carbs in a 2000 calorie plan...
Thanks for the recommendations. Just ordered 6 of the motorolas. I'm going to try them out and set them up for the near future while I try to figure out these Anytone radios. Just for emergency around the neighborhood type stuff.
A: If there was an abrupt power outage.
Step 1- I would check email for the power company alert with their expected duration
Step 2- If email shows it's local and expected to be fixed soon I will disregard. If no alert then move on to cell communication.
Step 3- If no cell signal I would hop...
So if I understand correctly,
I was looking at an 800 watt system (Renogy) that includes everything but the inverter and batteries. That just tells me that the system will provide 800 watts of charging power, ideally, regardless of the number of batteries correct? I get that the rate of charge...

I have a really nice light jacket from a brand called Aigle. It's waterproof and windproof. Basically a "shell". Underneath that the layers will change based on the temperature. It sits in my car bin for any emergencies. Along with a cold weather base layer, a t-shirt, a flannel shirt, a wool...
Well i'll be headed home tonight with the radio, to give it another shot. I'll let you know how it goes. Any leads on a good place to find a list of the frequencies for items like local services, Emergency and weather radio. Local freq's and repeaters?
I have the Bear Grylls parang, and it would work well for chopping smaller branches. It domes a little dull as usual, but after a good sharpening you are good to go.
I downloaded the chirp software to a different computer and it seems to be working this time. Unfortunately I left the radio at work so I'll have to wait unt Monday to find out.
I have been able to find the hand mike, 12v car battery adapter, and a mountable antenna with cable. All on Amazon. I just haven't pulled the trigger on them because I still haven't figured out programming the darn thing yet.
Is there a car kit available for these radios? My idea is to have mine mounted in the car for day to day GHB type scenarios, but then just take it and go if need be.
