Yep, 296 and 110 are where its at for making power with light bullets. 4227 works good too when you get up around 150 gr, thats my current deer load... if and when I ever go hunting with it. Keep reaching for other rifles/calibers this season.
6.8 is stout, out of any barrel length. You can work the 300blk pretty hard though in a short barrel useing magnum pistol powders like 296 and H110, 4227 and a bullet around 150gr is a good load too
My 300 BLK hand loads are pretty flat shooting and hit hard up close.
Out of a 14.5" AAC barrel
19gr of Win 296
110gr Hornady SP (Have used Sierra HP's but they might fragment)
2275 fps chrono'd 1260 ft/lb at the muzzle
using Hornady ballistic calculator and a 25 yard zero it looks like...
Being right there at the grand mark does put me in reach of a lot of other stuff, have kicked around the idea of building a 45 UZI for awhile, maybe I should just go on ahead and SBR it, instead of making a "pistol"
I've always been more of a carbine or full blown battle rifle guy, but recently I acquired a pre DC, Tec 9. I'm having a blast with the thing but its sparked a desire in me to have a stocked subgun, (semi auto subgun style). I just so happened to open the latest issue of Surplus magazine and...
I'm doing a 336 in 35 Rem,putting on a Bowers Vers 50, but have always wanted to clone T Roosevelt's silenced Win 94 in 30-30
No doubt our coolest president
2200fps is kinda pushing it for the hottest 35 Rem but I was assured that it would be fine for hunting use, but sure 358 Win is a lot more. Probably worth the $100 in the long run anyway. Heres the last pic I took of mine, refinishing the stock while the barrels being cut and threaded, have to...
I was in the woods hunting about 5 miles as the crow flies, behind the Caterpillar plant in Eastonollee for those who know the area. That Tannerite sounded like howitzers going off in the distance, between that and the small arms fire it sounded like a firefight.
Anyone have experience with buying 2 items at once? If I take advantage of Silencer Shops buy one get one for $99 do I have to pay the $200 tax on both items?
That is a pretty good deal on the 22 can for $99, you will want one of them too, might as well get it in a deal.
If your primary use is hunting, and can keep from doing mag dumps, you may want to look at the Harvester.
The key words being "can keep from doing mag dumps"
You get the $99 offer...
