  1. Steel vs aluminum Fixed mounts

Ah - only 1 cup of Joe. Always steel for a can. If you check the manufacturer’s mounts - pretty sure they are steel. I have spoken with AAC about various mounts - it is always steel. You can have a brake type or flash hider type - but always steel. Imagine the aluminum peening with on and off...
  2. Steel vs aluminum Fixed mounts

I use high quality milspec mounts. ADM, A.R.M.S. or LaRue are some well known names. Leupold usually is fine as well. If it is designed correctly and made from the correct alloy - aluminum works fine. If you have a split/empty center picatinny rail to mount on (common with euro rifles) - you...
  3. School me on Boosters!

Boosters are for guns with slides - i.e. - pistols. Direct threads are usually rifles, MP5 type or PCC.

  7. Suppressing 5.56 what gas system

Superlative gas block works on any gas length. I vent mine forward to help control the gas. The newer cans are reduced pressure cans which generally reduce the gas in the face. The Wolfman may not be one of those.
  8. Looking to get rid of ALL of my class 3 firearms and cans.

Take them to Gables if your near them. SOT/NFA dealers pay cash on the spot. I helped a guy years ago in Cartersville sell his M10/45 to Cherokee. I was buying it until he disclosed his heart issues. Thought if he died I would never see it so took him to Cherokee for cash on the spot.
  9. Looking to get rid of ALL of my class 3 firearms and cans.

You can sell them in state to another resident. Just follow the rules. I did this with a SMG and 2 older AAC cans years ago. Once we did the paperwork and the buyer paid for them, receipt given, the wait began. Took about 9 months and everyone was happy. Never destroy or give to the gov. A NFA...
  10. Crowning and engraving

I ended up cutting it over this past weekend. Did a slight crown using a brass tool from Mecarbo. Once it is engraved - will shoot it and go from there. I want it to cycle with both the booster and without. I appreciate the responses.

  13. I’m looking at a NFA purchase. So many scams! How do I find out if this is a legit outfit? M-16

Any website that takes only digital money is a scam. Period.
  14. Anyone in GA convert suppressor mounting systems? (AAC 51T to Q Cherry bomb)

Not that I know but I saw on ARFCOM that AAC/Palmetto was again doing some work on them. Most go to Ecco Machine

I have looked at those. Most of my handguard’s are longer. Easy to adjust? Simple twist?

I have both BCM and a Gas Buster. May try one of the new Strike T-Bones.
  18. Help me out here

10.5" or 11" free-floated barrel upper ($499 Palmetto). Superlative arms or other adjustable gas block ($50-$100). H buffer probably ($25) and suppressed type charging handle ($15-100). Any lower will do. Keep the barrel no less than 10.5" so as not to mess up the can and potentially void the...
  19. Question about shooting a .308 AR suppressed?

    Superlative Arms bleed off
  20. Question about shooting a .308 AR suppressed?

Almost all AR10 platforms are over gassed. I would add an adjustable gas block. Especially if running suppressed. Makes a world of difference. Plus a new one: Link
