The best advice I have is to look for a hunting club with a lot of land and hogs, a good group of hunters should share information with you. If your doing public land read a few articles on GON on Georgia WMA hog hunting. People who Hog hunt public land are very secretive.
Id ather the owner just keep them in, I've been to the neighboring properties and other hunting clubs. No one knows the owners so far.
O well. Back out to the hunt
Best bet this time of year is private property and not WMAs. Deer hunters are out of the woods so some club might let a couple of people hunt hogs.
No hogs on mine sense October or I would offer up a few days for hog hunts.
This was a little hard to find because it was under a "Cruelty to Animals Defenses in Georgia"
law, but my attorney friend told me were to look. Even if it is not Coon hunting season you are fine protecting your animals.

Defense of Others or Property: If...
Glock 20 or Glock 40 will do fine, or a XDM 10mm, or the new M&P 10mm. There is a few other options but you will loose the benefits of 15 Rounds if you go with a revolver or 1911.
I have family is Alaska that still guide in Grizzly/Brown bear country and most of them have moved to 10mm...
The Hornady 7.62x39 SST is devastating on deer and hogs. Any Russian HP/SP will do as well. The KS47 Gen 2 is awesome with the kinks from the Gen 1 all worked out.
