    I'm sure I am missing something. Say you deer hunt and fish only. Isn't the cost of the yearly license $17 a year? I am not sure how a $400 lifetime would pay for itself in 3 years. Are there other fees?

    I don't think you need 20" barrel at all. Here is a nice article on it and it pretty much says length just doesn't matter that much (of course that is not what your girlfriend said)...

    I don't think so, the lower is an NFA item and you have to get BATF's approval. I personally have never done it but I hear there is like nothing to it... I think there is a form saying you will go over state lines and I understand it is pretty much always approved. Back to 300bo and hunting...
