  5. Backup handgun for hogs

    I carry a Kimber ultra which is a 3". Depends on what I'm wearing but if anything I also put it in my purse. But for the most part the person is paying too much attention if they see my gun if you know what I mean.

    I hunt boars and my back up and everyday carry is a 1911 45. You want to shoot or use the gun that you're more accurate with. I'm only 5'0 and 98 lbs. The 45 will be more then enough to handle a boar.

    I would have to say I enjoy boar eradication. It's extremely fun in the dark when you have the right gear not to mention it's exciting. Starting to get into coyote eradication as well. I'm not that big of a fan of deer hunting because it's more of a waiting game in a tree stand.

    Yeah the hogs back home in Hawaii are beasts!! I've seen my dad and hunting buddies catch some big ones. The hunting is in more dense woods..Very different then hunting in fields.

    I'm not sure about that in Georgia. From my understanding talking to Georgia DLNR you CAN NOT hunt with silencers.

    FYI--they tried to pass law hunting feral hogs in the state of Georgia and it was denied this last legislation. In Alabama it is legal to hunt on private property. You need to have permission from the Owner and have an ERADICATION PERMIT. If you don't believe me you can Call the DLNR in Alabama...

    You can go on gohuntgeorgia.com to register for the class at your nearest county. I would look on it to see when they will be offering the soonest date. It's normally a two day thing. Yes it's also free
