Never hunted the Black, but it is sure on my list. I really enjoy goign out there.
  2. How Duck Hunters?

I'm hooked on Quack. I too was in NE Arkansas on the St. Francis River. Great shooting there. I have friends in Paragould/Jonesboro area.
  3. Predator/coyote lights

COOL. I'm sure the beer they would frown upon. Win some lose some.
  4. Predator/coyote lights

So you can use a spotlight on Yotes?
  5. Lifetime License before the fee gets raised from $500 to $700

Got mine 15 years ago. Best money I ever spent.
  6. New Land Owner Suggestions and Recommendations

Yeah any hunt turns into a Coyote hunt if I spot one. Or two. They're worse than hogs, but both are bad IMHO.
  7. Lifetime GA License

Yes with a Lifetime License you only have to fill out the HIP and Saltwater fishing surveys each year and print off deer tags. You also have to buy the Federal Duck Stamp if you are going to smack quack. Got mine in 1998. So at $60/ year for Sportsman License it pays for itself within 10 years.
  8. Girlfriend wants to hunt

AS to the clothing part, I've always gotten my daughter her stuff at Academy Sports. Good gear good prices and there are tons around metro atlanta.
  9. Cabelas almost built

Yeah I've always enjoyed there online fine gun room. I can't wait to go in person!!
  10. Hog Huntin

Being a complete and total novice to most of the technology and the terminology used, I have some questions. I see a lot of pics of guys holding those evil black rifles. So a 5.56 will take down a wild hog? Or would you recommend something heavier? On the NV sights do you need an illuminator? or...
  11. Hog Huntin

If it was up to me you could come kill all the ones we have on our farm down in central Georgia (right adjacent to Beaverdamn WMA), but it is up to dad. However I will broach the subject with him and see what he thinks. Especially if you are shooting suppressed waepons at night and if we can get...
  12. Grr duck huntin

Yeah I wish I was in the swamp stacking quackers too!!!
  13. Black panthers (4 legged variety)

No there are no black panthers in Georgia especially according to DNR. But then if you DO see one and you shoot it you are in big trouble.
  14. Boykin spaniel advice

They are like Labs in the way that as long as they are not gun-shy they love to retrieve and love water and are excellent retrievers. And they are small enough to be true inside dogs so that is a plus.
  15. Boykin spaniel advice

Either one would be dependant upon the parents. If they are hunters and you train the dog properly it shouldn't matter as long as you have time to train it. Otheriwse if it is registered and the parents are hunters and trained it might be worth it in the long run. Another option is Boykin Rescue...
  16. need new hunting boots

It might be worth it to ride out to Hiram to the new Academy Sports. They are getting their boots in now and the one in Cumming had a decent selection. Hard to beat their prices too
  17. Opening day DOVE gun what ya shootin, lets see em.

No pics but I shoot my grandpa's Browning Light-12. It has put many doves in the frying pan over the years.
  18. What's a good .410 load for dove

I started shooting a 12 gauge at 9. It was a Belgium Browning Light 12 my grandpa ordered new in 1960 and didn't like. So he put it in a closet after he shot it three times and I ended up shooting it. Still have it and still shoot doves with it. It sure as hell kicks more now than it did when I...
