    If I knew I was in an area with aggressive bears I would want something in 12Ga with at least 6 rd capacity a a bit of practice reloading it. Around here though I imagine some well timed bottle rockets will send them searching for greener pastures.

    Yup. Sounds like they liked your money but not your company. This seems to be the case with a lot of hunting clubs. Worse than a bunch of women at a hair salon.

    And ya better bury them where no one finds them. No deer stand is worth the kind of feud that could come from something like that. It could ruin a lot of deer seasons to come especially if you don't live on the property.

    I found a dog on the side of a forest service road that had been shot during deer season about 20 years ago. Just a medium sized brown mutt. Had to finish him off. First thing I ever killed. Some people are just sick.

    A shotgun with a long barrel should do it. Just make sure to use good ammo. I like hornady critical defense and federal premium 00 buck. They both use the Tru flight wad which in my experience tightens up your groups considerably.
