I recently sold my 2006 Ranger Edge. Great truck. No problems with it except it didn't quite have the power to pull my boat. It would do it but it was straining. Had the 3.0L. New (er) 2019 with 2.0L Eco-boost pulls it with no trouble.
It's because most trucks on the road any more are 4 door which usually means sacrificing some bed space. Obviously there are a few exceptions but you couple 4 full doors with a 6' bed it makes for a pretty long truck. I had no need for a 4 door and took me a while to find one with just an...
Toyota probably was the best pick up till about 2019 when Ford came out with the new generation Rangers. Although I know plenty of people who have the F series with the 3.5 Twin Turbo Eco boost engines and had no problems with them and sing their praises. I went to work for Ford as a dealership...
I would highly recommend the new generation of Ford Rangers. Take a look and compare the specs to anything else on the market in it's class and I think you will be impressed. 275HP, 310 lb-ft of torque, 10 speed transmission, 19.4 MPG is what I have averaged in my local driving. They claim 24...
Years ago I used Starbrite products that worked very well. Took old dull paint and made it shine like new. I see it is still available. Not sure if it still works like it did 30 years ago.
I agree. I feel the same about pick up trucks as well. They all are going to 4 doors and I guess that is fine if you have a need for it but I don't have a need for the extra doors and I don't care for how it looks. Took a while to find what I wanted in a 2 door version. Not many out there any more.
From what I read the AISIN is an available option but only for the 3500. There is also a company out there who makes adapter kits so that you can put the Allison in the Dodge.

I wasn't accusing you of anything. Just having a discussion. If you notice, my reply was that I have my doubts that GM was going to let Dodge use their transmission. Anything is possible.
Just proves the point that you cannot believe everything you read on the internet. For years I heard that Ford had bought out cummins and was planning to put them in their F series trucks when Dodge's contract ran out. All internet myth. Cummins is it's own company and has never been owned by...
Odd that the 2023 is already out and the Allison is not an option.

Here it is, July 2022, and I did a little research on the “Build Your RAM” website just to see what’s available. While looking at...
You would think that a service manager would be the one to talk to but that is usually not the case. They come and go pretty frequently around dealerships and quite often they are paper pushers who never worked on cars at all. Quite often they start out as service advisors writing up work...
I worked as a tech for Ford dealerships for about 20 years and have driven Ford trucks for about as long. I have had 71 F100, 74 F100 Custom, 76 F100, 95 F150, 2006 Ranger with 3.0V6 and currently have a 2019 Ranger with 2.3L Ecoboost. I would put this newest Ranger up against any truck I have...

Then use the polish once you have them nice and clean.
I was a Ford Transmisssion Tech for a long time but only thing I ever did on a Chevy was replace the governor on my TH350 in my Camaro. Used to catch hell driving a camaro working at a Ford Dealership.
