  1. Ceramic coat over auto paint

Nope. Not talking about Walmart crap. I am well aware of paint correction and pro applied ceramic.
  2. Ceramic coat over auto paint

Are you referring to ceramic coating? If so, I looked at it a while back and decided to pass. It will relieve you of the burden of waxing for a few years, but it really doesn't protect the paint from scratches and chips (which was why I was researching it). Pretty expensive to boot. But if...
  3. Thoughts on a 2002 Nissan Maxima GXE V6 w 230,000 mi?

Too bad. Sold my '03 TB a couple of months ago and it was a solid vehicle. Had 215k on it and the engine didn't burn a drop of oil. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  4. which rolling tool chest to get?

I had a 36" Craftsman for 30+ years, but it was never big enough, plus I overloaded the drawers until they would no longer properly close. Searched for months for a used chest and couldn't find any better prices than new, so eventually splurged on a 46" Husky that was on sale at HD. Quickly...
  5. Emissions help: Readiness Test Failed?

So it might have had a check engine light or not passed a prior emissions test and someone (dealer or individual) cleared the code to eliminate the "problem". It may or may not return, but going through the closed loop sequence should give you time to pass your test. Sent from my SM-G781U1...

  8. If you need a new carb - Holley sells refurbs direct.

I'm with you on the fad. I do wish I had been able to buy one before they shot up in price. The FJ40s have done the same thing. Another on my bucket list, along with the old Nissan Patrol. I wonder how the old IH Scout II has fared? Are they a "thing" now? Sent from my SM-G781U1 using...
  9. If you need a new carb - Holley sells refurbs direct.

I read an article in Forbes a few years ago that claimed restored EBs were appreciating faster than Ferraris. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  10. If you need a new carb - Holley sells refurbs direct.

[emoji106] Excellent. Always wanted a mid-70s Bronco. Found an unmolested, one-owner 1975 with 302 a couple of years ago, but the lady wanted too much for it. It was her long-deceased father's and I didn't have the heart to beat her down on price... Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk

What model? Early Bronco? Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  12. $75,000 for a decently apportioned pickup?

One article said the model with extended battery was rated by Ford at 300 miles carrying a 1000# payload. When he tested it empty, the engine computer said 460 miles left to go at 80% charge (or thereabouts). Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  13. $75,000 for a decently apportioned pickup?

That was my rationale...been driving old, used cars and trucks most of my life. Finally splurged on my "retirement truck". Of course...I haven't yet retired... Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  14. $75,000 for a decently apportioned pickup?

Carvana just offered me what I paid for my new 2018 F150 2.5 years ago. Only I can't buy a used, equivalent truck for that amount. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  15. Opinions/Info on 03 Trailblazer...

We have one with 225k on it. Bought it in 2009 with 85k on it. Pretty solid engine. Doesn't burn a drop of oil at 225k! Had minor issues, but nothing unexpected. Had the radiator rupture at 175k, which solved the issue we'd had of losing coolant slowly & engine running a bit hot at times...
  16. Small engine help?

Interesting bit of trivia...my F150 is a flex-fuel V8. Using a phone app (Torque) and a Bluetooth OBD2 device, I can pull all sorts of info from the engine computer. Including the calculated ethanol %. Around metro-ATL, most E10 gas seems to be >10% ethanol, sometimes reading as high as...
  17. Small engine help?

Don't know about Stihl carbs, but most of the manufacturers used Japanese carbs at one time. All built by one small, family-owned company. I'm sure they've since been cloned by the Chinese. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  18. Small engine help?

They fit the Stihl commercial powerheads. I'm using all my Ryobi & Homelight attachments. Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
  19. Small engine help?

You know, I used to work on my own small engines with great success, even improving power, starting, etc. But about 10 years ago, I got fed up with having to work on my blower and trimmer *every* single time I got ready to use them! (And yes, I had already switched over to ethanol free gas)...
  20. Small engine help?

If you put it back together without damaging it or buggering up screws, how will they know? Sent from my SM-G781U1 using Tapatalk
