That's about the normal mileage for that transmission. The transmission control module is located inside the trans .[in the hot trans fluid] If a factory transmission is installed, it has to be programed before it can be started.
I would'nt try to set base timing after you get it. I would set total timing @ 3000rpm's between 32-36 dregrees total , wherever it runs and starts the best
flush would not be an option in opinion. drain and fill and filter. if there is any sediment built up anywhere in trans and you flush could brake loose and cause damage. i'm a mechanic . only way i'd flush if you knew a flush had been done every 30k or so

As long as you don't put slicks the stock holds up fairly well with a good locker and axles, but just not strong enough to stay together very long with sticky tires.
