Me either. The lure of AK's was that they were CHEAP, back before the 1994 AWB and even more so before 1989 and 922r. When a Norinco was $189 and 7.62 was $69 for a Spam can. ChiComm sheet metal that costs more than an entry level AR does nothing for me.
That's a cheap price for sure but I just can't get past that weird-a**ed gas block. Its rail is on a different plane from the receiver and I'm pretty sure it's aluminum. Then again, I'm a fan of the traditional FSB. It's just "supposed" to be on an AR. YMMV
Why is it that the very bottom end AR's always have that awful, off-plane, railed aluminum gas block up front? Maybe it's just me but that is, for me at least, an immediate disqualifier.
I wonder if that is a Chinese, Norinco built shotgun. If it is, it's probably a dang solid piece. I've got a "NEF Pardner Pump" (Chinese 870 clone) and it seems more rugged than my 870 Express.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with Anderson lowers. I actually prefer their closed trigger guard version to any other brands/options that are out there.
