You will be in shock. Hopefully there will be reliable witnesses. Let officer know you will discuss once your lawyer is present. This will give you time to recover and think clearly before providing details and obtain legal rep you need to protect you especially if witnesses are hostile
TSA "staff" let over 94% of fake weapons and explosives on planes in latest review...these f***s don't have a clue and would have likely kissed his butt on the way through the gate while stripping an old lady of her clothes and pride.

Do not fire warning shots....better yet don't get in the middle of disputes period. Call 911 and let the pros take care of the issue. Basic hand to hand would have served you well...no need for weapon in my view. Glad you and the other party are both ok...could have been much worse.
If it really is stolen, must have been a burglary vs car break in. I would not take any action until speaking with the authorities and confirming that it was in fact a stolen weapon. Good luck to you!

Ha, perfect practice makes for perfect execution! Good advice though. Occasionally do ride alongs and it is amazing how much stress is created by just pulling someone over especially early morning hours when windows are foggy or have ice blocking your view inside.
If you own weapons you must keep up with them. Bet that wife was sleeping in another room for a week or so. That said I triple check before walking in the airport!
