    That’s wild. I did some cursory research and this is a genetic mutation called melanism. You see it in deer and other animals, too. Black coyotes with the mutation show up more in mountainous areas for some reason.

    Caught this black coyote in my backyard not too long ago and thought y’all would dig it. I didn’t even know there was such a thing until I saw this. My girlfriend had been telling me she’d seen one out back a few times and I thought she was full of it. Pretty wild.
