He just might show up in the day. You could catch him at 1:30pm slipping to the nearest watering hole to get a drink. You never know. Good luck getting him.
I saw a couple fresh scrapes last weekend in Social Circle. Definitely not turkey scratches. They were scrapes.
I saw a young 6 pointer a couple mornings ago right up the road from my house. He is hanging onto those horns like they are money.
Sometimes they shed in December, but most of them keep their horns until turkey season. At least that's the way it seems to me. I've seen plenty of horned bucks during early turkey season.
Find the bedding areas and you will probably find a shed or two.
Friggin awesome to see! Notice the doe around the side at the 1:15 mark. Maybe they were stuck and maybe not. I've seen them lock up for a while.
But come on man, you gotta change that radio station. Lol
Great video
The old timers of a South Ga club I was in swore there was a black buck on that place, back in the 80's. I never doubted them.
That's a cool deer, for sure.
Walton is about the same. 220-230 before rut, 200 after. Just guessing, of course.
Same in Marion county.
My brother shot a mature 10 point in Walton county this past season that weighed 235, live weight...Oddly, this happened in early December, so I am guessing that buck had put some weight...
I bought a new Moultrie camera and it is without a doubt the biggest POS I have ever seen. After setting it for 2 months I still did not get one single pic. The last time I went to check it I yanked it off the tree and shot it to pieces with my AK. It felt great.
