Cmp isn't that far away. It's only a 2 hour ride from Woodstock I believe too. Not to detract you from seeking the membership just another option. I'm considering it too and thinking of going to the 200 yard rimfire match on the 3rd. I have 200 yards at the house. I'd really like to see if I can...
Me as well. Im right hand right eye dominent but a couple bad breaks on my left wrist and shoulder make it to where I have trouble holding a right handed bow with a heavy draw, so I shoot left instead and didn't have any issues transitioning to my left eye for aim. Doing IDPA I have to practice...
Its not in the video because I forgot to hit record but the last stage was off hand and all my rounds went where I intended them to. In fact I won that stage.
My poi is the same strong hand, weak hand, and both hands. its just almost always a little low and left from factory sight position...
I shoot about 5" groups at 25 yards, that is something I do work on constantly to try and tighten up, but I've got a lot of hand shake from years of bad blood sugar control that is a contributing factor
I've never shot any of my pistols from a bench rest, this is just from a factory new gun I...
I can hit a squirrel in the head at a full run at about 50 yards out with a rifle, but I cant hit the broad side of a barn from inside of it with a shotgun.. It was a big joke growing up and hunting with my friends that the only safe place to stand when I had a shotgun in my hands was right in...
I already have a bunch of dummy rounds, but I load all my own ammo as well.
I know that its supposed to be bad for a 1911 to be dry fired but I do it anyway. I do a lot of dry fire drills. I have no problem replacing a firing pin or firing pin spring every once in a while if that's what it...
I'm a right hander, and on just about any factory sights I shoot a little low, and a little left and I do it with great consistancy.. In that I generally shoot a controlled slow fire group of about a half dollar at 15 yards. So I know I'm pulling the gun a little when I pull the trigger, but...
I know i pulled because i saw it in the scope as i pulled the trigger. Just didnt squeeze it uniform, its another one of my flaws i need to work on. Pulled the second one because i was upset about the first and didnt shake it off
Using cheap bulk ammo (winchester white box 555) 3 decent shots grouped well, then I pulled 2. Shooting from a prone position with some varying wind blowing somewhere between east and south east (I'm shooting north) I tried to shoot as the wind stopped as it wasn't constant (I really need to get...
This. I'd love to do the course. And I'm sure I'd take my fair share of looks from instructors as I've never taken a formal course before (other than hunters safety, which really doesn't count) I think of myself as a decent shot, but an ego check every now and then is a nice reminder that...
Added note, also train with your carry ammo. My usual ammo is MUCH less accurate than my carry loads. I'm a MUCH better shot with my carry ammo, but the stuff I load for plinking I do tend to put together faster and I loose a little bit on the accuracy end because of it. My carry loads I go so...
I agree with what has been said, train with what you carry. I do carry my p226 and have a steel challenge set up in my back yard. When I'm not actually competing with friends/neighbors and I'm just down there by myself I always pull the gun from the holster hammer down so I have to shoot DA/SA...
For what its worth I was shooting from roughly 12-15 yards today. I need to measure it but there is a rock sticking up out of the ground just perfect for me to place my rear foot against for leverage and so I know I'm always standing in the same spot. Helps for locating the brass to clean up later
Tried concentrating on just the front sight today which was a lot harder for me than It should have been I think. Actually forcing myself to do it and think about it I have been focusing on the rear sight.
Fired 2 mags with the Walther .380 and 6 with the Sig Sauer .22. I did a few double taps...
They do make dummy rounds for .22 for dry fire (I have one that came with the sig, I thought it was a nice touch. Manual even tells you to use it for dry fire practice) I still need to get a few for the .380
The triggers are about the same as far as how heavy the trigger pull is, the sig has a MUCH longer pull though
The Sig is considerably heavier than the PK380 actually.
The guns I have and that are on my to buy list are there because of the grips. I have a small hand but long fingers so its...
Thanks guys, I do appreciate the help
and yes, that is a 12" target. I have a 5" steel target as well as some 2" steel targets that I love to shoot with the rifle. No paper to go through, and you know you hit the target without going down range to check. I'd just like to be good enough with...
He is damn good. I don't have any in the red on this target. He came down and shot the pistol for me to confirm it wasn't me. I have 5 mags all over the paper, he put the one mag he shot all in the center red section. His Vision is exceptional though, I'm sure its better than 20/20 but he's...
