No shame. The guys that did mountain runs when I had my Bimmer, had either AWD Subi STI's or AWD 3 series. Only me and 2 other guys had RWD. We were like "uh, we're not equipped like you guys. We'll just do the "slow" roll.
No shame in that. When I had my BMW, I did a couple of mountain runs. The general consensus at the meeting spot was always "don't do dumb ****." But if I was leading and keeping close to the speed limit, they would all overtake me and say "**** you," and then proceed to twist the mountains at...
It's a crap shoot with cops. Some will harass sport bikes for fun. Some don't even bother with bikes because it's a losing battle. My last "almost run in" with Gwinnett I was cruising at 80 on Hwy 78 (in a 45). Two Gwinnett were radaring on the side. They both just watched me ride by like...
Gotcha... that sucks about the sun glasses. I'll admit it's a catch 22 with my Icons this time of year. Need the visor for day riding, but by the time I leave my office I have to ride with the visor up.
****. It was almost too cold to wash my truck mid day. I would have had to leave my house at 7 or 8 to get to the meeting point and then ride cold mountain air? No thanks. If it's below about 50 or 55, riding isn't comfortable.
Let's do one in March or April.
To be honest, I'm probably out. Have an event to attend tonight (which will likely involve consumption of large amount of alcohol). Plus, tomorrow morning and evening are supposed to be freezing.
Let's do one in the spring and I'm in for sure.
