I'm near-sighted with astigmastism. But I have worn contacts for 20 years now. Pistol sights are easy, focus on front sight, front sight on target. Rifles, I prefer red dots, but they can be "bloomy" from the astigmatism.
Yes, it is. All you need is patience and watch the videos on how it's done a couple times. The only thing that was difficult to me was the trigger return spring and even that was only a slight difficulty.
You want the RAM and the USB and the DCAEK, if nothing else. The RAM makes it feel/sound on the reset. The USB makes the reset smooth and short/crisper takeup. The DCAEK drops the weight, pre-travel and overtravel of the trigger.
Fit and finish are nicer. CHF Barrel. Chrome-lined bore and chamber. Other than that, not much (and some other AK's have some or all of those features anyway).
But I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my Arsenal SGL-31 has appreciated in value from $300 to $500+ depending on where one finds a rifle for sale.
I know the import ban is in place, but weren't these rifles fairly common before the ban?
All said, I will not be...
I love the Gen 4's due to the texturing and the mag release (don't have to change my grip at all). I've always liked the more abrasive type grips though, hence all the 1911's wear VZ's.
