Had a summit. Did not like to feed hollow points with out hammering the bolt forward. CCI standard round nose fed fine. I was faster with a standard type bolt action.
Interested in how well the proof grendel barrel will group. I've always wanted one but could never justify it back when you could get a BA one for reasonable money.
Get the Ruger American Ranch in 6.5 Grendel and drop a Timney in it. Or The Howa mini action also in 6.5 Grendel. I've owned both and still have the Ruger. The Howa was better fit and finish (minus the magazine / bottom metal features.) Sold the Howa only because I couldn't get a threaded model...
From the receiver no. I also do not have head space gauges. I also looked into swapping the barrel however from what I have found Tikka's are quite awful to get the barrel out of the action.
Wanting to chop and rethread a Tikka I have. It is currently a 24" factory threaded. I wanting to go down to at least 20" if not more. Threads absolutely have to be concentric with the bore as I run a suppressor. Any recommendations in the North Ga. area? I am in Dahlonega and I am not afraid to...
Just installed a MDT LSS XL on a Ruger American in 6.5 Grendel. Also swapped the trigger for a Timney. I wanted the AR type ergonomics in a bolt action. I have an AR in Grendel already and have been successful hunting wise with it. I went with a LWRC ultra compact stock kit and BCM pistol grip...
UPDATE: for anyone who was following.. Received the rifle back from Ruger today. Their note states they replaced the barrel and the 1913 scope base. (I did not send it with one.) Also states they fired 20 round of Hornady through it without malfunction. Fantastic CS imo. All it took was an 8:30...
Rocksett. However all of my devices have either rocksett or loctite on them. Never have had an issue with taking on or off before. Same technique every time. Not a Ruger bash thread they are making it right.
Yes I've been on the phone with several people I know who have everything but a headspace gauge for 6.5 grendel. I do not currently posses any of these tools or gauges nor are they in the Covid budget.
Title says it all. New Ruger American Ranch in 6.5 Grendel. Did a scope swap today wanted to site it in this afternoon. I've had the rifle a couple of months now just haven't made time to shoot it yet. I was swapping muzzle devices for my suppressor when the barrel unscrewed from the action. Gun...
