I had one years and years ago. I didn’t have anything like a 500 to compare with at the time but did with 44 mag (29 and 629sw) and 454 casull (freedom arms). The recoil was a strong flat push vs a sharp flip like the casull. The recoil Was about twice that of the 44 mag. Not unbearable but...
I just took the the Sadlak mount off of my m1a scout. I’m planning to use that scope on another rifle and use the m1a scout without optics. I’m going to sell the sadlak at some point. When I took the mount off I realized I had lost the stripper clip guide. My question is does it matter if I...
What ever gun you can practice with a lot and spend money on a good scope. But practice practice practice---- 7.62x39 and 308 have reasonably affordable practice ammmo availability
I love the way a mini handles- more like a traditional hunting rifle. Personal preference. I grew up shooting the Ruger 44 mag carbine and hunting. Those were great guns.
The bad thing about the mini30 is you HAVE to clean them after shooting 7.62 Ammo. If you don't it will jam w less than 500...

I had the same experience with the customer service number and it saying the Verizon number wasn't working. This happens for a few days. I called to cancel an order that was taking longer ship time than the original shipping time listed when I ordered. So I sent an order asking them to cancel...
I had a mini-30 tactical. It shot great and ran great with brass and steel Ammo. To me it was the best feeling and handling rifle. However if I shot 500 rounds of cheap Ammo and didn't clean I would have reliablity problems.
Just my .02
Depends on what you want it for. Both are heavy. For hunting and defense the scout makes more sense. But if you are shooting matches or long distance the standard my be better
I have one of these on my scout. It's fantastic. Perfectly designed for this application. I killed an over 300lb boar with it years ago and lots and lots and lots of deer. Never lost zero in several years of hunting. It was clear and accurate for yards and yards
