    The Remington reduced recoil works better than the Winchester, in my opinion. Not sure if Winchester makes rr for the 30-30, but their "Winlight" slugs weren't much different than standard loads to me.

    It has roughly the same recoil as a .357 and is a lot cheaper to try compared to buying a new barrel or gun. My kids shot this when they were 8, but I don't remember how much they weighed. My youngest is 12 now and weighs about 100 lbs. I just thought he may want to give it a try first.
