After doing a bunch of reading, I fed my glock 40 (10mm gun) a box of .40, and it ate it like it was candy. No feeding or ejection issues, and accuracy was about the same if I was shooting 10mm.
I am not recommending or condoning this activity, but based on personal experience, it worked like a...
I had an enhanced full size, in .45, it was well built, but very hard on ammo.
If I cycled a round into, and out of the action, the cases were scratched and noticeable deformed.
Mine may have been flawed in some way, not sure, but it was harder on cases than any of my Colts, Springer's, or...
Hi everyone.
I am wondering if I can put a gen 4 glock 20 slide and barrel assembly onto my gen 4 glock 40 frame?
Everything I have read has been about doing the opposite, or putting a glock 40 slide and barrel on a glock 20, and that is good to go, according to the interwebz...
Seems to me it...
With that Coonan it looks like a follow up shot would be slow at best.
I would take one over a Desert Eagle in .357 any day though!
I am almost ashamed to admit how much I love my Taurus 608, same firepower, 8x .357, but with a much, much lower price :)
There is a pretty wide range of 10mm ammo out there.
Much of the choices are pretty manageable out of a 1911 platform due to the weight of the gun, but some are downright painful to shoot.
Choose what you need to get the job done.
I think the real question is this, would you rather have a .45, 10mm or a 9mm?
Once you make that decision, you can pick a 1911 in that caliber :)
Seriously though, I have had many 1911's, have 6 now and would point you in that direction.
I like Colts, but Sig makes a heck of a feature rich 1911...
Upon further inspection, it looks like the ribs in the top of the barrel are not centered. The outside strip on the left is bigger than the one on the right. I am going to mention that in my call to customer service today, maybe they will just replace the barrel and clock it correctly this time.
Just got this reply, and it sounds like what we would expect.

Hmmm, it seems like Ruger would have upped their game since 2012, but I guess they are assuming most will not notice. I will admit I did not notice for over a week. My first clue should have been the big sight adjustment I made the first time I shot the gun. I have sent their service dept an...
Hey guys,
I picked up a Brand Spankin' new Ruger Redhawk a couple of weeks ago. I recently noticed the barrel is canted to the left, which looks to me like it was over tightened at the factory.
It seems to me this will effect consistency of accuracy at various distances.
I am thinking I should...
