We'll as for caliber the 06 ammo is available almost anywhere you go. And if your hunting thick cover factory ammo offers the 220 grn bullet which honestly hit deer like a freight train. I've hunted with both the 308 and 06 and I still prefer the 06. But like others have said consolidate calibers
I don't think it can be a 30-06 pulled my 303 out of the safe the -06 round is about a 1/4" too long for the mag. On top of that the enfeild action was not built to with stand the pressure of of the 30-06. So I would definitely recomend you take it to a gun smith to be safe. More than likely...
Well just dropped off my ruger M77 in 280 to have the metal cerekoted sniper gray. I'm really impressed with the quality of work they do at Chestatee firearms. Should be ready Friday pics to come.
