It's possible I guess. Still sounds fishy that most stores have a 3 box, or 1 bulk pak, limit and that happened.
Just thought I'd post this up to keep anyone here from wasting their time trying Academy.
And no, I'm not a ammo flipper.
Friend of mine was at Academy Sports (Mall of Ga.) this morning at 04:30 in line for some 9mm ammo. He was sixth in line. They got 3 - 500 rd. cases in (50/box). SOLD IT ALL TO THE FIRST GUY IN LINE.
Don't know about y'all, but that chaps my ass. I'm surprised there wasn't civil...
This one does really well, but it's super light so it's hard to get tight groups with (for me anyway). Great woods gun, tho.
Tac sol barrel, Houge stock, Sweet 22 scope, innards and trigger worked over by CPC http://www.ct-precision.com/
This just in from Rough Creek Traders. I collected an old stainless 10/22, used Adams & Bennett barrel and Fajen stock, and bought the scope. Jon (jclem on here) slicked up the trigger, replaced the bolt, ceracoated the receiver, trigger group, and scope mount and assembled the rifle with a few...
30 years ago I stopped at a yard sale and picked up a little .410 break action shotgun (H&R - Higgins ?) for $25. Didn't have the money for the Marlin .22 they had (also $25). Anyway, cleaned it up and eurethaned the stock and it looked like new. Gave it to my son for Christmas as his first...
You mean like these?

Love the new woodies. There's just somethin' about wood and stainless...
The one in Gwinnett and the National Arms Show at the expo center on the southside at I-285 and Jonesboro Rd. are the only ones I go to anymore. They are the biggest, so you get a better selection. Still have to hunt for deals, tho.
Here's the 411 on shows...
Just recently got my first SKS rifle and am learning the ins and outs. Found out that I can't insert a loaded mag with the bolt closed. I can actuate the bolt hold-open by reaching into the mag well and then insert the mag, but then I'd have to store the loaded weapon with a round in the...
Sorry you guys are having so much (ahem) Dick trouble.
Seriously, the one in Fayetteville always seems to be staffed by knowledgeable, helpful folks. The last young lady I spoke with behind the gun counter is an experienced shot gunner and was trying to decide which 9mm to buy to carry.
I...
Doesn't matter to me. Won't buy anything at Wally World (except for ammo, which they use for a "loss leader"). They are the reason that Huffy bikes, Master locks and Levi's are not made in America anymore. Those low prices have hidden costs. Our economy is in bad enough shape without sending...
Lot's of good opinion here, Thanks.
I think Crackerz and Barton have hit the nail directly on the head. The wood, green, and black on the same piece is just too much. Only thing to do is shoot it A BUNCH with both sets and see what works best. Can always sand the black ones down a bit if they...
My son had a AD in his living room while examining his wife's Glock. Poked a hole in the wall and took out a window in his truck. The wife and baby kept sleeping, but he said it took a little while before he could pet the dog or cat again.
Reason I tell this is he is one of the most careful...
