Agreed - I have 2 each of the C products and the ASC and haven't had any issues out of either one. Really can't tell the difference between them; you'd be safe with either one.
I spoke with AAC last week as well and they're letting me send it back to be checked out. I can't "see" any baffle strikes, but that doesn't mean it wasn't happening. I'll give another update once everything gets sorted.
Time for an update. Went to the range last week and shot 110, 150, and 220 grain without the suppressor. NO tumbling / keyholes at all. Put the suppressor back on and yep, you guess it, keyholes. Some about 12" away from point of aim @ 35 feet. So the barrel isn't the problem, at least not...
Good idea, unfortunately I only have the 1 barrel at the moment. I may take it to the gun shop and have him take a look at the crown but I'm going to go by and shoot another weight first to rule that out.
I'll be honest - it didn't dawn me at that time to take pictures. But I can say this; the targets are paper taped on to cardboard, and there was a day and night difference between the nice, clean, round holes when it did go in straight, vs the almost rectangular slotted holes that were roughly...
Update on post #25
Looking for some advice and insight on why I have 220 grain factory loaded 300 BLK tumbling at 50 feet (can tell by the way the bullet is impacting the paper target at an indoor range)
Here are the specs:
Barrel was cut down to 9.5" and rethreaded to 1/2"x28 but a local...
Ah, good point - thanks for that. I did find a YouTube video from an owner of the non-PST version and he detailed his dislike for the turrets on that model. Said they can easily be bumped and moved if the caps aren't on it, and that to reset it back to zero you lift the cap (spring-loaded) so...
Wish that were the case on the focal plane; did a side by side comparison and the MRSP is only $100 different. The illuminated reticle is cool I guess but I have no plans of shooting before dawn or after sunset.
UPDATE:
After reading and researching more, I'm leaning towards the Vortex Viper series. After I actually get out there and shoot for several months I may change my mind, but it seems to be a good solution and there is a lot of good reviews on them.
I'm a bit confused on 2 different Viper...
