Depends on how you mount it. Its better if it can swing some to help dissipate the energy. Also better if its angled down a bit to help steer shapnel in the downward direction. But if you don't care about the steel or the tree, then sure.
Can you explain further? I have several of the more expensive Timney triggers and I love them. I don’t “seriously” use any of them, but I was hoping I could if I needed to?
Went and checked my local Walmart this morning. Dahlonega. Still no ammo or guns out in view. So WHO are they worried about looting//rioting? Cause I don't see a lot of Antifa/BLM up in these parts.

Can't speak to rifles, but I have a pre ban HK USP that came with 13rd mags from the factory. The post ban ones came with 10rd mags. So I may have a little added value with higher capacity mags. Of course you can now buy Hi cap mags again so I'm not sure it makes any difference.
My We the People holster destroyed the finish on my Sig, but it carries fine, retains fine and works well. Just wish I still had my paint job. I know Kydex holsters cause wear, but this seemed a little overkill.
I've been using the WTP IWB holster for my P938 for over two years. Works fine, but the kydex has done a number on the finish of the pistol. If you care about that sort of thing, look for kydex that has been lined.
