    Thanks for the response. I am looking at both of those barrels. The straight fluted is in stock with the mid-length gas and the spiral fluted in mid and rifle length are out of stock. Is the fluted much lighter and do you see any difference in accuracy? I'll be putting a Hogue free floating rail...

    Good info! I'm completely in the dark with this rifle. This is the kind of info I'm seeking. thanks! He, actually, dropped off the gun with a box of ammo and told me to shoot it. I've had it for a couple of weeks, but have not had time to shoot it. Plan to this weekend, though.
