  1. Hikers Companion Pistol?

I'm comfortable with my Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Spec. SS. Not sure why Charter doesn't receive any love. I've shot several hundred rounds through it. With a 2" barrel I don't intend to take it to any silhouette matches soon. I have sent several pigs to piggy heaven with it, so I have no...
  2. Smith and Wesson 32-20 revolver

a cylinder full of Buffalo Bore in that gun would be a real adventure. Definitely in the "hear, hold my beer" category.
  3. Friend of mine (40-ish mom) house burglary, stole her revolver; looking for a next gun.

S&W EZee or whatever they are calling. She for sure can rack it, and out the door price is about half of what she was quoted to the Glock.
  4. Old Colt help

.32 Colt police is not the same as .32 S&w long. .32 Co;t New police is the same as S&W .32 long, more or less.
  5. Help please - what is this S&W revolver?

  6. Smith and Wesson 32-20 revolver

Make sure to explain to him not to fire his rifle loads in it. Although it is the same caliber, there are two level of loads, the rifle load is much hotter.
  7. Help please - what is this S&W revolver?

You will be hard pressed to find a dealer that wants it. That one is exceptionally fine condition. You will do a lot better to sell it right here. I have several .38 S&W, and don't have a problem finding ammo. You aren't going to find it at Bass Pro or Academy, but any well stocked gun store...
  8. What do I have? Any significance/value?

Sauers are very well made guns. The "West Germany" marking dates it somewhat. Sauer is one of the parent companies of present day SIG. Sauer shotguns never seem to bring as much money as their quality - probably because they were not much marketed in the USA, and people are not familiar with...
  9. Why doesn't the Mini14 come in .30 Carbine?

They tried hard to develop a .308 version. The action wouldn't hold up. Not knocking the gun, just a fact. Bigger cartridge = less metal in the action.
  10. When was this shotgun manufactured?

See post #14. Which if you research it, is correct.
  11. When was this shotgun manufactured?

and that's a problem. My gun needs a deep cleaning due to my father's affection for WD40, I don't know a local gunsmith I trust to take the gun apart and clean it.
  12. When was this shotgun manufactured?

No, built by Kadensha Corporation under Winchester supervision. Modeled on the Superposed.
  13. When was this shotgun manufactured?

BTW, one interesting feature is that the gun has mechanical triggers, instead of inertia triggers, meaning that with a misfire, the second barrel will fire, which doesn't happen with inertia triggers. Supposedly a sign of quality, because the tolerances have to be tighter.
  14. When was this shotgun manufactured?

The pictured gun is a straight up rebrand of a Winchester 101, a solid, classic "American" over/under.
  15. Over penetration by pistol rounds is not a problem -except when it is.

I did some development work on Sporting Clays courses, when it was a new sport in Georgia. At the time the courses had manual traps, and it was not unusual for the trapper, usually a teenager, to sit somewhere downrange from the shooting station. The protective "blinds" for the trappers ranged...
  16. When was this shotgun manufactured?

I have one I inherited from my father. He purchased it at the Sears on Memorial Drive at Columbia Drive. Same gauge, same furniture. I was with him when he purchased it as a present to himself. He didn't have anything "nice", he had spent all of his loose money on 3 boys. He came in to a...
  17. Over penetration by pistol rounds is not a problem -except when it is.

Article doesn't state caliber, but sure to be one of the common ones. https://www.wsbradio.com/news/local/mother-accidentally-kills-10-year-old-son-while-unloading-handgun/IPWZU6S22ZF37OWYONQQUUCL4Y/
  18. Best clay thrower

That's a heck of a deal. Matterellis are like the Rolls Royce of trap machined. Designed and manufactured to throw tens and tens of thousands of targets with no problem. Think about it - at bunker trap, the trap has to throw each target exactly the same way, hundreds of times over.
  19. Sporting clays: what y’all use?

I shoot a single barrel gun. I have all sorts of chokes, but I end up shooting a LM and 1 oz. No. 8 if you can find them. On some very long targets, I will put in an IM and 7 1/2s, which is what I shoot at trap. I learned from some of the top shooters, and they don't fiddle with chokes and...
  20. ? on fixing / shipping a used gun

If that's the case, they have really changed. i had a cylinder fitter to a Blackhawk, and "back in the day" mailed it to Ruger (gun) and they mailed it back to me with the new cylinder. Have shipped a Dan Wesson to CZ for repair, and went door to door.
