In this case, wouldn't it be able to be registered since it was not an NFA weapon initially, and the article specifically states that "individuals now owning the guns need to register them". I understand the article is quite old, but wouldn't that change in its classification allow it to be...
Calling Dobbs tomorrow to get their input before I go hacking away at what could be a cool gun to own. Tried reaching them earlier but I guess they were closed already
direct from the ATF website it labels it as a mchine gun:
http://www.atf.gov/files/firearms/guides/identification-of-nfa-firearms.html#spitfire-carbine
states "Can be fired fully automatic by manipulation of safety lever during firing of weapon."
So that is what I am going off of
I was thinking the same thing.....and in that token, was also questioning whether that would negate it being illegal to process until proper procedures are followed?
"so my brother and I will be getting it from her" is what i stated, but right now we would like to find the legal route to take. Should it be immediately taken to a class 3 dealer to hold? I don't know...all I know is she said "look what I found in the barn" so we have been researching it today.
I don't have it in my possession, and she just found it......so if the idea of finding out what to do "legally" in an open forum where others may be more knowledgeable is in itself illegal, I'm not sure what the powers-that-be would really expect in such a situation
So my dad's ex found this tucked away in a barn of a house she bought. She doesn't want anything to do with it, so my brother and I will be getting it from her or some work being done.
My questions...
Where in the WORLD would I find a new barrel for this thing? Not sure what happened there...
Dont buy an actual lower parts kit. Buy one of the "spare parts" kits . Cheaper and you get more of what you may actually need/use. I have a trigger guard too lol.
Here is the kit I have:

I recently started another build myself. Good luck and have fun! It can get expensive real quick when you start substituting out parts lol. Just be careful you buy the parts you WANT from the start and not double buying later. Research is key to find out what each "upgraded" part Will do for ya...
Only pointed that out because his initial post directly mentioned it, and it's the only one he mentioned in a later post. But no, not getting worked up. Just responding to statements made. I don't mind getting ribbed on one bit...but in the same token aren't I allowed to refute or rebut things...
thick skin still in tact, who said I wasn't allowed to dish back? And the things on the way are more or less to fill the gaps and replace some things. They won't be "in addition" to what is there for teh most part. Unless I plan on stacking mag releases on one and other and such.
Actually this is my "range" gun. I have many more go-to guns. I've carried much heavier weapons than this for days upon end....which choice exactly weighs in so much that it's gonna give me, a grown man, second thoughts? I mean....that one additional grip is not made of osmium...
^^^^ See comment above yours. I am really wondering where ya'll learned to count. Obviously if you are counting my bi-pod you learned to read at the same place....as I do state that is there for picture purposes (should I have used a pillow, would that be counted too?) What do you have on...
how? It has BUIS (normal), an optic (normal), a grip (normal) and a secondary grip (not normal but FUNCTIONAL). The bipod is to hold it in place..I really don't get how everyone says it has "so much" on it when all it has is 1 single additional grip which is used. No lasers and flashlights...
