I use a UNIT strategy. I set a UNIT value(apprx 5% of total portfolio).
Incrementally Buy(see cost average) each position until each position gets to the UNIT value.
Rebalance(take profits in the ones that are over UNIT and buy more of the ones that below UNIT).

There are several ETF's that sell covered calls on the stocks held in the ETF and distribute the premiums to the share holders as dividends. I currently hold QYLD which is currently paying >10% annually and pays monthly. As I get closer to retirement I'm slowly getting out of growth positions...

Age 40: 3x salary.

If you contribute $100/wk your take home pay will only go down by approx $85.
Doesn't hurt as bad as saving post tax money in the bank and then sending a $3000-6000 check to your ROTH acct.

For long term investments seek out stocks that have Dividend plus Growth potential.
