Rhododendrons in my yard…. these are so "underrated"…. they seem rarely planted, compared to roses and azaleas….
Love the blooms!

That’s what it is…. I trained in a "Link GAT-1" in the mid-70s when I first started flying…. it was much like the one in the two top photos…. just a later version. This Link trainer is on display at the training facility I go to every year for Recurrent Training….

How we used to do training in "the olden days" vs today…. [emoji6]
Modern-day simulators consist of a large, enclosed "box" on electro-hydraulic lifts… all run by computers that simulate digital visual displays and create the sense of motion that most would swear they were actually flying in...

Not my photo but couldn’t pass up sharing here as it was so cool…. apparently, Ken Wiele who took the pic was out fishing and captured this pic of a BlueJay trying to protect/defend its territory against the Eagle that happened to take perch nearby…. but the Eagle doesn’t seem too bothered by...

My mom would have loved your visitors! She had a few different bird feeders outside the kitchen windows…. and my dad was in charge of keepin' the squirrels at bay with the Daisey BB rifle…. the funniest thing was the BB hole in the window over the sink that he forgot to open before firing...
Yeah…. had to take the boat to be pulled out of the water and have the bottom painted…. made the trip while sippin' coffee from my 'special mug'…. [emoji2957][emoji12][emoji12]

Unlike cars…. there are very few airplanes with windshield wipers and none with "washer systems"…. and this time of year, there’s plenty of bugs below 2000 feet…. before JFK, I had already been in/out of Washington Dulles…. the nose and wings looked like I flew through a swarm of them "lovebugs"...
Departing JFK airport to the west, with NY skyline on the horizon…. sorry about the bug smashes and glare on the windshield…. had to get a good pic through the think windshield material….

It is amazing how much the cost has risen on the older Z-cars in recent years…. in '03 I sold my '76 Z for $2700 (in very clean condition) which was a good/fair price…. today, it would likely bring $20K+ [emoji15]

Landing in La Lima, Honduras…. also called San Pedro Sula and known as "the murder capital of the world" until surpassed by Caracas, Venezuela (comforting thought)…. home to MS-13 and other "gangs"…. looks peaceful from the air anyway with lots of banana plantations surrounding the city…...

I can only claim credit for the "screenshots" on this post…. but this was my youngest daughter bungee jumping from the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa when she was there in 2013 studying at University of Capetown…. the bridge is 700+ feet above the river gorge…. when the gyrations stop, the...
