Just remember, if you replace your magnetron, even after the microwave is unplugged you can still get shocked because some of the components still hold a charge. So be careful or do like we did and call the repairman. (Home warranty)
It is possible to replace. We had to replace the Magnetron on ours. It was a built in microwave/oven combo. We eventually ended up getting a new double convection oven combo.
