i sold a car for 12k a few years ago and took cash. it's next to impossible to counterfeit money these days and unless they pay in 1 dollar bills 15k doesn't take up much space.
still haven't made up my mind. if i can find a 2-3k beater that get's 30-35 mpg i'll drive it until it quits then sell it for parts and keep the truck. new diesels are probably 60k for a base model these days. the used market (particularly the 7.3 market) is going to be strong for a long time.
