I think Big Woods has more variety of bows. They use to not be as equipped as Mitches, but have built up well plus indoor archery range. Mitches is a Matthew’s dealer and maybe one other brand. Big woods is Bowtech, and I think Hoyt and 1 or 2 other brands (as far as compound bows). Both will...
There is such a range in how bows feel. I’ve yet to pick up a Matthews bow that I like the feel of (personal preference). My best recommendation is to shoot before you buy. Most good archery shops at least have a short yardage back stop to allow you to shoot and feel the draw cycle. Cabelas will...
No offense here, but you can probably sell the sight for more than the bow. I wouldn’t expect more than $75, more realistically around $50. There is just no comparison to today’s bows.
I have a broad head target that I rarely use, not sure of the brand, but it’s similar to what you are describing (some kind of compressed gel like foam). It’s only use is to check that my broad heads hit where my field points do. Oddly enough, the broad heads pull out fine but if I shoot points...
I can't think of anything in that area, but your bow doesn't need to be set up any differently for carbon. If you need to see if it's tuned, Backwood Bowstrings in Woodstock isn't too far and they can do this as well as set up new arrows. They can bare shaft tune in shop.
You didn't state your planned usage (field point/broadhead,stationary/mobile, etc). I can't remember where I saw it, but someone sells the "shell" of a bag target for real cheap. All you do is stuff old clothes, rags, towels, or blankets in it which is what is in a lot of bag targets. This would...
Can't tell how much it's worth, but it might as well be wearing a members only jacket with an iZod shirt underneath with maybe some corduroy pants. I haven't seen an overdraw in use on a bow for at least 2 decades, maybe 3.
Now that I'm done calling your bow an old fogey, put a D loop on it...
I love my Bowtech Allegiance, but have not heard great stories about Bowtech's warranty work. It sounds as if "they have determined" that your Bow was either dry fired, dropped, or mistreated or that you are not the original purchaser via technicality. I understand your frustration, as I would...
I was thinking Bowtech does their warranty work only through dealers (at least that's how they have been in the past). Is that the route you took? Check with Barnesdale, they may make replacement limbs for it. Also, Archerytalk message board may get you a bit more information on your problem...
They are allowed? I use to partake in CBG shoots in social circle and they weren't allowed, only non range finding optics. I use the most basic bushnell w angle compensation, Seems to be a good compromise between price/quality. It's not good if you plan to use it for long range rifle though.
I shoot easton axis 340 with 65-68 lbs and 28 inch DL (I prefer a heavier arrow when I'm close to the edge of the parameter). There's no need to go super expensive on arrows, most will do the job fine. I prefer to go to an Archery Shop like Mitches Archery in Canton to purchase and have them...
