The cyclist did not make the best decisions and is not a stalwart example of how cyclists should behave. Entire incident could have been avoided by both parties. Bottom line, not all (or even a majority) of cyclists are law breaking hipsters. A good cyclist, as well as a good motorist, knows...
Could you or I have stopped your vehicle in time as not to hit the pedestrian? Doubt it. Everyone of us has passed a vehicle sitting in the left lane (possibly trying to turn left) at an intersection. Could the cyclist avoided the accident, questionable. Could the pedestrian crossed when the...
If I have an issue with someone, I deal with it face to face. Doesn't have to be in the middle of the road. If we both obey the law, no problem. If you infringe on any of my rights, problem. I will continue to ride, staying as far right as is reasonably safe (per the law), and obey the rules...
Laufen, some people will never understand, or don't have the intelligence. Useless beating our heads against the pavement. Just looking forward to riding my bike and dealing with them one on one, face to face, if the have the gonads to step out of their vehicle to do so.
That's the minimum. Is endangering an individual's life not worth the couple of seconds it takes to safely pass with you superior "acceleration"? Or is your time worth more than others?
Funny, I cycle, hike, hunt and camp. Played college football, semi pro baseball, soccer, etc... Cycling is by far the hardest sport I've ever competed in.
Anymore than two abreast is against the law, unless riders are trying to pass. Mountains aren't a struggle. Get out of the car and try it for yourself. You might even lose the weight gained sitting in the car!
I can get to downtown ATL via bike in 45 minutes during rush hour from Kennesaw, so it's not always about acceleration, hp, or speed. Same trip is an hour in the car. Each has it's advantage.
No, same rules apply and I get as angry as you do when I see another cyclist do that. I will also have words with one breaking the rules as they give all cyclists a poor image. Just like any a** wipe that buzzes me too close, or tries to accelerate around and hit the brakes hard at a light or...
Read up on the law. Cyclist are considered same as motor vehicle and state law also requires minimum 3 feet of clearnace when it is safe to do so. A game I like to call taking video to court when some douche endangers my life or another's.
