    WD40 will melt the stuff right off wood and metal.Use an old washrag on the wood. asoft cotton towel on the metal.Then use a good gun oil on the metal and Woods lemon oil on the wood.Makes old Mil guns look like new.

    WD 40 works great on the stock and metal.Then i use Murphys Oil soap on the stock and Rem. Gun oil on everything else.
