What beavertail grip safety is needed to drop into a 1911 government model without having to modify the pistol. What spur hammer will complement the safety. Thanks
I put a gracious amount of gun oil on it and it didnt work. Wiped it dry and tried again to see if any metal flakes were being made and saw none. Ive come to the conclusion that it will take more pressure than I am applying and a better setup than I am using
2 settings on the switch. Figured if I tried both Id have 100% chance to get it right.
Posted is a clip of what appears to be the bit spinning the right way but who knows.
I have two easy options open Thanks to the generosity of ODT members. I normally like dealing with projects I start. I might give it one more try but will probably wind up allowing people with the right tools to do it.
The mags came with a gun I wanted and I had to buy higher cap mags...
Ive gotten an offer from a member that will mill it for me but its a drive I have to plan. Id still like to see if it will work before I sacrifice any more mags to the drill.
Thanks for all the feedback and info. I just need to find something to fit it pretty snug. Will look weird in Lowes shoving wood into the bottom of a mag.
Havent tried black bits. Everyone recommended cobalt bits. I do think starting off with a smaller bit will work better, Just need to put more pressure on it. even the smallest bit just spins with no bite.
I tried 3 of these with same results. Only 2 of these bits were ever used as far as I can tell or not used enough to matter.
Every bit just spins with no Bite. I believe its a matter of pressure. I am only putting mild pressure against it for fear of deforming the mag so I think the fix is...
