daniel defense is 50 ft-lbs. your standard gi nut ranges from 35-85 ft lbs, all depends on where the ^U^ lands for your gas tube to pass through. i have installed many different rail platforms on ar's. 50 ft-lbs works 100%
Any gunsmiths in North ga that does this kinda work? I have a baikal 12 o/u I would like some more versatility out of if it’s cost effective. Top barrel is full and bottom modified, would like to have them reamed and threaded for win chokes. I have tools to measure to as I know this will be...
i m trying to make heads and tails of what your pictures show, it looks like you had a romanian draco or something similar (judging by the "used" barrel and the front sight base/gas block combo)? am i seeing that correctly? if so why was the barrel being replaced to make it an sbr? or was...
I disagree, I've built many ars and swapped gas blocks between many with ease, biggest difference is straight pin and taper pin,
And to who said use red loctite on the set screw, u sir are a buddy ****er, simply mark the hole where the set screw touches the barrel and dimple with a drill...
Dobb's defense, Bryan will get you squared away quickly. he takes good care of odt members, when I first inquired about pricing he told me "it's like a sore pecker, you just can't beat it". And he wasn't lying.
Bryan and everybody at Dobbs took very good care of me, they cut my barrel down from 16" to 10.5", recrowned and rethreaded. Bryan answered all questions with hospitality. Very impressed with the sheer service and very glad he's a fellow odt member! Will definitely be sending more work...
i have never taken anything to him, but have owned and played with a few things hes been ahold of. i thought he did great work, especially with lever guns. have heard hes reasonable on price, but like all gunsmiths they take their time.
never understood that, i tought my self how to do...
really? nobody has one? nobody knows of a store who has one on the shelf? thought this was the gunsmithing forum.
apparently every one at daniel defense is at the shot show and no one still at the factory knows how to use ups, so this is why i asked here. tried every local dealer around me...
a bullet guide is always a good thing to have, but assuming you have a saiga since you dont have one, and reading from your post, assuming your "good american ammo" is "brass cased" it sounds that its not extracting the spent case, and jamming the next round against the non extracted case. if...
got that right.
recommend cleaning thoroughly after every shooting. all the ones i have had/shot were highly accurate. but if you dont keep them clean, carbon/grit will keep the extractor from functioning properly, and if it gets stuck, it can shear off upon closing the chamber on a...
