Okay so my wife has decided that she wants to deer hunt this year. I'm curious to see what you guys would recommend on a single shot .243. I've looked at Rossi, H&R, and CVA, but I've heard mixed reviews on all. I'm looking for a compact or youth as she's 5,3 115lbs. Also not looking to spend over $300.00 as this might be a one time deal once she sits in 30 degree weather for a couple of hours.

I think H&R is no longer in production.

I have a CVA in 223 that I sometimes use for hunting. It's a nice compact rifle. The trigger is decent, and it's been accurate for my distances of 50 - 100 yards. I have a 1-3x Weaver mounted on it.

My wife and daughter both hunt and use a 7 millimeter 08 my wife has a brown in my daughters is a New England firearms my daughter says she likes hers better than her Mama's my daughter is 19 years old 120 pounds and she says she never knows she pulled the trigger
