257 Weatherby Mag

Alright guy's, I need a load for a 257 Weatherby mag. I'm shooting it out of a Remington 700 with a 27'' Shilen barrel. Factory ammo drives tacks but we all know how high that stuff is. I have been told RL 25 and 100 gr Barnes TTS bullets is what I need. Anyone have any 257 weatherby reciepies I need to know about ?

I'm load 70 grain Sierra Blitzkings over 76.5 grains of Reloader 22.Shoot under half inch groups at a 100.Makes one ragged little hole.

This seams to be the magic recipe for now. I tried 72 grains and it was tight just not as tight as 71. I will play with some more loads after January but for now sub MOA will work and it's time to go give some dirt naps.

i used to load the barnes 80gr tsx in mine when i had it with great accuracy. cant rember what it was but i think it was around 3830fps with 3/8 in groups.

L@@k up N-135 Vit. 100 tsx and ttsx bullets, we use that load with Fed 215 gm primers, works well in acumark, heavy barrel,
works great for us. Is your .257 a heavy or sporter barrel?

make sure you shoot the load carefully in the summer time. rl22 has temp swings.
