870 ejector repair

This us how I repaired my 870 broke ejector. If you are familiar, the parts are extremely hard to locate and very expensive if you do.
The end that holds the barrel oriented, breaks off.
Keep in mind I am not a machinist.
I bored/milled a 1/4 blind hole about .070ish, then silver soldered a 1/4 dowel in place. And milled it into a D shape to fit the barrel groove.Seems to work fine. Hope this helps someone in need.

I found my ejector on eBay along with the rivets. Used a file to take off the heads of the original ones. Tapped them out. I removed some material from the outside of the rivets so they would fit flush. Used a punch to tap the rivets into place.

Really not a complicated job. Tedious removing excess from the head of the river so it’s not sticking out cutting you
