As some of you know I picked up a WWI 1911 Colt 45 Period correct. I did this to leave my son a great memory, of the respect I have for those that have given their all. I have finally found a very talented builder for a presentation box. I have given him the wood from another great member on here. When meeting the builder today, I expressed that after he was finished, I would have the top engraved. He informed me he just got a computer machine that he could program to etch into or raise any quote or diagram I wanted. This is a project that I wish to leave my son when I am gone..I have many ideas but both welcome and look forward to suggestion and ideas. The wood is Japanese Cedar and the only thing to compliment it is multiple coats of oil..Any and all suggestions of what to engrave on the top, would be most appreciated. I have designed it to have the 1911 recessed, in coarse velvet and thinking about a Red, White, and Blue as the colors..This has to be a step above and I ask for all your suggestions..Thanks DD I have to turn in soon, thanks for any and all ideas...
