None that I have ever taken. I usually board at Gainesville and you board right on the platform to your car. Suggest getting a room or roomette if budget allows.
I rode Amtrak 40 years ago. It was a good experience of except for trying to sleep sitting up in a chair... I upgraded my ticket to a sleeper berth car.
However the cost was at least equal to what an airline would've charged, so I invested dozens of hours of my time (without saving money) for the purpose of seeing parts of America I don't normally see --- with a good view from ground level.
As to Amtrak's policy on firearms you have to ask yourself what are the consequences of being caught carrying a gun on an Amtrak train.
Look at both federal and state law in every state your train will pass through.
FEDERAL: are there any federal laws on this topic ? Carrying loaded easily accessible gun on your person or near you on a train?
I don't know.
I read this book 20 years ago but I haven't read it lately and it does not have a index where you can look up specific terms like "train" or "railroad" or "Amtrak."
simple google check says NO. can carry unloaded weapon in checked luggage, must notify Amtrack 24 hours in advance of doing so, no access to gun on train in transit, cc permits not withstanding.
