Another post about handgun ownership for people under 21, over 18

Hello all, I have a couple more questions of which I would like the law of which makes it legal for me to do so.

1) Can I purchase a handgun through private transfer? Like if I bought a handgun from one of you guys.
2) Can I purchase ammo for a pistol?
3) Guy at my LGS says I am not allowed to own a pistol. What law says I can?

I just want to ensure I have all my bases covered when it comes to laws.

You are allowed to own one and buy through private transfer, however the law says you cannot buy a handgun at a retail location until you are 21. You can buy handgun ammo.

Ken was saying that there is no law that says you cannot own a hand gun, not "no, law says you cannot" there was no comma in his orriginal statement. Comma makes a difference, like its positioning between militia and people in the second ammendment

Oh okay. I know that about buying at a retail location, but what laws specifically states I can, or cannot? If somebody approaches me, specifically a law official, I want to be educated.

There is no law in georgia that says you cant own a pistol, the law that says you can is the second ammendment. No other law exists in georgia protecting or restricting your owning of a pistol other that you cant buy it from a retail establishment until you are 21

Which is why you tell them its for a pistol caliber carbine. That is store policy and not law, and ive never seen cabelas or accademy refuse an ammo purchase to someone under 21 and over 18
