Anyone here been to Switzerland?

Exploring possibility of making vacation plans to Switzerland next summer (2018). Recently saw the movie "Targeted" on Netflix, where a segment was filmed there and now I have the itch to see that part of the world. Looking at Lucerne, Bern, likely flying into Zurich. Anyone visited other areas that they strongly recommend?

Lake Lucerne is beautiful as a dream. Be aure to take the ship cruise and then ride cog train up to the peak. There is a town outside of Zurich called Uster that i'd highly recommend.

Been to Lucerne but that was in 2000. It was a beautiful and tranquil place outside the city. The city itself was also very nice but obviously lots of people. Would love to see what it's like now

Traveled there for a day while in Europe found it to be very expensive. Beautiful but pricey.

We did our Italian trip back in 02/03. Flew into Venice and spent a few days there and rented a car.

The road trip took us up across the border into Lugano Switzerland. OMG, what a beautiful place!!! Maybe why I love Swiss rifles so much, but I digress...

We also bought Swiss watches while there.

We would love to go back one day!

So if you're in the southern part it's just a few hour drive down to Venice if you haven't been there. Really cool place.

Oh, and if you go, could you see if anyone has an 1896/11 bayonet for sale? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday...

Back in the late 70's after my brother and I graduated college, we took a road trip of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Amazing trip. Met wonderful and friendly people who helped direct us away from the "touristy" areas. Beautiful part of the world.

It's beautiful, take your time before you buy stuff, it gets cheaper depending the side of the alps your on,and take the trains, ski Italy and Swiss alps

Back in '75, I drove through France and drove up to Geneva and then on to Bern, then back into France. Well worth your time and money if the muslims have not ruined it. A really beautiful country that was full of nice people.

To bad you can't carry there.

If you go to France, might I suggest Istris, nice, beach and not a turbin in site
