Does anyone know where to buy the parts to build an Ar Upper but that has the piston system that eliminates the need for a buffer tube. Basically converting it to a true AK system. I've looked around and the only one I found were the .ZM Weapons. which is now the new Para TTC for $1750 and up.

Rock River Arms PDS CARBINE, a true piston design with no need for the buffer tube. in fact the stock FOLDs. no carrier tilt to worry about.

Ummm, the ZM weapons/Para TCC platform are like the SIG 55X design and FNH FAL the return spring is on the piston rod. You want a AR that is trully close to a AK-47 you have 1 option. The PMW (Primary Weapons) They are bad ass but expensive.

The question to ask it, why? If you want an AK get an AK.

I think I can intelligently anwser that. Lots of us carry, train have owned AR-15s over the years.

No one can deny the reliability, lack of maintenance and cleaning, that you can get out of a AK platform under extensive use. Not so with the Direct impingement System Eugene Stoner designed. It needs to be cleaned an lubed to remain reliable. Quite simply it craps were it eats:)

That being said its light weight, it's parts are plentiful and we are proficient with it. So desiring the reliability an strengths of the AK in your familiar AR platform, is very understandable Thought process to me.
Thoughts?
