I just returned from a rifle class this weekend, and I was grateful to be surrounded by patriots who are dedicated to being proficient with their weapons. But I couldn’t help wishing that some of them were as dedicated to their health as they were to their rifles.

A lot of us pour time into tactical training, and that’s great. But here’s the reality: if you want to be a bulwark against evil, if you want to be an asset to your family, your church, and your community, then you need to be just as focused on your physical fitness as you are on getting your Bill Drill down to sub 1.5 seconds.

It doesn’t matter how many drills you’ve mastered if you’re winded after climbing a flight of stairs, if you can’t carry your buddy to safety, or if you don’t have the endurance to keep going when things get tough. Physical fitness isn’t optional, it’s foundational.

I know not everyone is built (or are healthy enough yet) to run triathlons or hike 14ers. That’s not the point. The point is to be 1% better every day. Small, steady steps add up to a body that can carry the weight of responsibility.

I want to help. Please feel free to DM me. I’m not selling anything (honestly). I just want to help you take the first step. I want like local minded men to be an asset, not a statistic.

All I need from you is:
  1. Your height and weight
  2. Any physical or medical limitations
  3. What access you have to gyms or equipment
I’ll give you some advice to get started. This is just friendly guidance, not a professional program. I’m not a certified trainer, and you should run any advice by your physician before starting.

Bottom line: don’t just train your hands, train your body. Your family, your church, your community, and your future self will thank you.

The picture on the left is of me three years ago. I had let myself go completely after getting out of the army. I’m now the man on the right. 46 years old and in the best shape of my life. I’m hiking mountains and preparing to run my first ultramarathon. You can do this.
